Are You Afraid of Success?

Have you ever felt pulled in one direction to do something, create something, and achieve something only to be pulled in another direction to avoid it?  Have you ever felt like you were being pushed to forget or ignore the feeling to succeed? There could be a part of you that is afraid of success.

Mae West said, “I don’t like myself, I’m crazy about myself.”

Some super smart person who never took/accepted credit said, “You can explore the universe looking for somebody who is more deserving of your love and affection than you are yourself, and you will not find that person anywhere.”

Is anything truer than that?

I know Valentine’s Day is all about loving “us” or whatever Hallmark is saying this year, but there is someone special patiently waiting for you to love him/her right back. Its YOU.

How to Catch A Thief.

Today is a good day to practice looking around the present, instead of looking ahead with fear.  Today is a good day to pay attention to what is happening now, instead of worrying about a “what if” that may not ever happen.

Fear is a thief.  It robs of time. It robs us of our lives. Little by little, moment by moment.  The quality of our lives is destroyed.  If we take a look back at all of the things that we’ve worried about in the past and how much time we’ve spent worrying about them, we would be shocked.  Let’s take a look back to last year. About what were your 2010 worries? What was on your list of worries?

Are You “Negative Nancy” or “Positive Pollyanna”?

Every single day we have engage in conversations with ourselves.  We can have positive self-talk or negative self-talk.  Some of us use one more than another.  Which are you?

Not necessarily because we are negative, but rather we don’t know how to do it.
